Statistics : Women hit more than Men in Economic Downturn

As of March, 2009: -

No of Women hit by Economic downturn around the whole world : 22 million (2,20,00,000) people

Projections by 2009 end: -

Global unemployment rate : 6.3% to 7.1%

Female unemployment rate : 6.5% to 7.4%

Male unemployment rate : 6.1% to 7.0%

So it would be according to International Labour Organization: -

Total unemployed people : 24 million to 52 million

Total unemployed women : 10 million to 22 million

Result : Women hit more than Men in Economic Downturn
