Vodafone robbed me of my number 9830540355

The Kolkata Vodafone Prepaid no 9830540355 was bought in 2003 in my mother's name (B. Chattoraj). Since then I used it from Jan, 2004. At that time it was Hutchison Essar. Till 6th March, 2011, I had used this number by being brand loyal to Hutch. (currently Vodafone-Essar). But being loyal was my greatest mistake. I came to Pune on Jan, 2010 and still used the connection on roaming mode by filling Rs 200 talk time every 6 months since I had converted it to lifetime connection.

On 9th March, 2011, my mother visited the Vodafone Shop at CIT Road, Kolkata and they said that since I did not submit the papers they disconnected my number (it was saying 'Sim Card Registration Failed') and to get the number back again I need to convert it from prepaid to postpaid and use it and for that they charged Rs 300. They said since I used the phone in roaming mode for more than 6 months it was also another reason why my no was disconnected. Since the phone was in my mother's name they asked my mother to pay Rs 1200 for a previous postpaid connection that my other had inspite of my mother having paid the amount to them and surrendering the connection. After being a loyal customer of Hutchison-Vodafone-Essar, I should be given privilige to use the number for any time I like with some grace period of submitting the documents (which my mother had already done while buying the connection in year 2003).

Now if anyone from Vodafone does not contact me and give me my number 9830540355 back free of cost, them I will be forced to leave Vodafone and take up another connection for the rest of my life. Also I would promise to never buy any Vodafone connection for the rest of my life. I would also discourage others to buy one. Thus vodafone has lost a brand loyal customer like me and thus they would also loose many such brand loyal customer like me in near future if their policy is to harass customers instead of helping them.

Thus I was bound to write painfully "Vodafone robbed me of my number 9830540355".

I hate Telephones / Cell Phones / Mobile Phones

Cell Phones are something which I hate to carry but I have to for others who love me. These cell phones keep me engaged for long hours when I could have spent my time doing some fruitful work. But these cell phones make me delay my jobs.

People find me anywhere and everwhere, whenever they like through the help of these cell phones but I often cannot get people whenever I want them to be either becuse their cell phone is off or becuse they are busy doing some important work.

Cell phones make my spend hundreds every month on pre paid bills and thus makes me grow poorer with each day. Because of the cell phones anyone can track me who are sitting on these cell phone offices like Vodafone, Airtel or BSNL can screw me up anytime for any made up reasons.

But lately I have identified a method of making cell phones disturb me less by keeping my cell phone switched off when I am not in the mood of speaking on the cell phone thus making it difficult for people who always got me freely available whenever they liked. Only I switch it ON when I need to contact someone. But most of the time I keep it OFF thus peace had again returned back to my life. Thus I can do what ever I like peacefully without a little object disturbing me by ringing itself when I have concentrated on my work the most.

So I think I have solved the issue quite wisely and on the process I have been sucessful in warding off people who used to call me for no reason actually. I have also informed the people who actually need me to send me an SMS as I keep checking my messages periodically even if my cell phone is switched off.

New Faulty Tata Indicom Handset & Connection (Episode 0002)

I am really upset with the kind of treatment I had undergone by the Tata Indicom people and their people associated with them. I never expected such indifferent attitude towards a customer by Tata Indicom. I am really disappointed.

I will advise my family, my relatives, friends, friends of friends, their friends and their friends not to buy any Tata Indicom mobile set as they have really bad customer relationship. Their attitude towards their customers is not professional (very unprofessional). They do not know what is customer satisfaction. What they know is a big show off towards te ignorant people of India.

I am going to spread this news in orkut and other online communities and forums so that common people like me are not fooled again in the name of low-priced mobile connection and handset.

I am going to relate the whole story in my next post.

New Faulty Tata Indicom Handset & Connection

Last Thursday that is on 1st November, 2007 I had taken 2 Tata Indicom Mobile connections one for my friend and another for me so that we can talk seamlessly at low rates. But I was really dissatisfied with the connection. Now I can understand that my Hutch or Vodafone connection is the best connection I ever had. Airtel Connection takes the second place followed by BSNL connection. I had used all these connection in some time of my life for certain purposes and that is a different story altogether.

The latest addition to my connection record is the Tata Indicom. I took the connection from a Tata Indicom franchisee shop at Surjya Sen Street in College Street - Amherst Street area and the name of the shop is Rupashree.

I took two 999/- connections. The handset they offered me is "Kyocera" which of inferior quality compared to any of the major handsets that are available today like Nokia, Samsung, Sony Erricson.

Lets talk about the handset. The handset is itself of a very poor quality, which is not expected from a company like Tata.

1) It gets hot after talking for 5 minutes.

2) It has a poor battery backup. Its only about one week, and I need to charge the handset twice a day to talk freely. If I talk for one hour continuously, the battery shows no charge from full charge. This is ridiculous.

3) Suppose I switch off the phone and then I charge its battery, just when I switch off the power, the phone automatically turns ON. God know why. I find this very strange. No other set in the world behaves in such a queer manner.

4) Suppose I turn the "Lights Only" mode ON, then after sometime I find the phone ringing at the top of its volume. This is a threat to my individuality.

Talking about the connection I would like to say that the connection is of inferior quality. Most of the time the voice from the other side, breaks and we are bound to speak the same line twice, thrice or more than that. Sometimes we don't get proper connection and cannot reach the person on the other side when ever we like.

I want my Kyocera handset to get changed with a Samsung Set by the Tata Indicom people. For that I might visit the shop today or later or visit the Tata Indicom website and lodge my complaint. If they cannot change my handset then I'll have to write few more blogs about this and think what my next step will be.

Whatever it is I honestly want my handset to be changed. I have a great respect for the Tata and Tata Indicom being a part of Tata must look into customer satisfaction. If they satisfy me I'll surely write a satisfactory blog about them.

If any of the Tata Indicom people want to contact me, they can do so at my E-mail id: vaichatt@gmail.com , vaichatt@rediffmail.com
