Darao Bongo-Shontaan ! (Stop ! Son of Bengal)

Darao Bongo-Shontaan ! (Stop ! Son of Bengal)
What will you get by these fightings?
Fighting in the name of your party and politics !
Fighting for Red, Fighting for Green, Fighting for Orange...
What have you got?
Mother has lost her son! Wife has lost her husband! Child has lost her father!
Shame on you, O, Son of Bengal, Shame on you !

Darao Bongo-Shontaan ! (Stop ! Son of Bengal)
What will you get by these fighting-s?
Fighting for the throne and fighting for the money !
What will you do with these money?
Money will make you more greedy,
And one day your greed for more shall invite your end...

Darao Bongo-Shontaan ! (Stop ! Son of Bengal)
What will you get by these fightings?
Think of Tagore, Think of Vivekananda,
Think of Vidyasagar, Think of Ram Mohan,
Think of Ramakrishna, Think of Loknath,
They were great people because they had sacrificed their lives,
For the well-being of our own countrymen...

Darao Bongo-Shontaan ! (Stop ! Son of Bengal)
What will you get by these fightings?
Come to Maharashtra, Come to Gujarat, Come to Karnataka...
And watch the Sons of these Soil working hard for Her development.
If they can they why can't you O, Son of Bengal ???
Its time to change yourself, time to rise,
Time to awake Time to bring about development...
Else you shall never be forgiven by you Mother Bengal !

So awake, rise and stop not till the goal is reached and achieved,
According to Swami Vivekananda, rub off the tears,
From the innocent eyes of you brothers and sisters,
Only then you Mother, will Bless you,
And you will be a True Son of Bengal, O, Son of Bengal !

(NB: This above creation is a protest against the killings of innocent brothers and sisters of Bengal in the name of party and politics in recent times)

Change in Bengal Politics

Bengal Politics has seen a big change from Left Rule to the TMC Rule on 13th May, 2011. It was a Friday. Friday the 13th which was unlucky for the Left Parties who had been ruling Bengal at a stretch for 34 years. Almost three and a half decades ruling a state in India is not a joke. One needs to have character to do so. Left had that under Jyoti Basu for about 24 years and then 10 years under Buddhadeb Bhattacharya. Now, Mamata Banerjee will sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Bengal on 18th May at the Brigade Parade Grounds. People have a lot of expectations from her and some even dreamt of her to be the next Bidhan Chandra Ray under whom Bengal had experiences all around development.

It feels bad for Buddhadeb Bhattacharya who was an able administrator but one wrong step by him (allowing the police to shoot at the villagers of Nandigram) made his government loose the Lok Sabha and now the Bidhan Sabha elections in 2010 and 2011 respectively.

Congratulations to Mamata Banerjee would be too less to admit and acknowledge her perseverance and ability to fight against all odds. She started from a mere party worker and beating MP Somnath Chatterjee from his own constituency to Rail Ministry (a couple of times) to the present post of Chief Minister of Bengal. It is definitely a long way and only time will tell if she can be successful in being an able administrator who can drive Bengal from poverty, debt to the most prosperous state in future and retaining the long lost glory of Bengal.

Left Party (CPIM) did a lot of work for Bengal in terms of farming, panchayat system, infrastructure and cultural areas but was a total failure in economy, healthcare, education and job market creation. Thus Bengal could no more be called a state which thinks matters one day ahead of the rest of India (“What Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow”). It is a matter of time to see whether Mamata can revive Bengal to a different revolution of overall development that her party’s manifesto promises.

Oh! What a bandh it is! Oh what a bandh!

The 3 top leaders of 3 top parties of West Bengal meet secretly on Sunday the 12th July, 2009. They take some decision unanimously.

Mamata-di (angrily): What is this going on Pranab-da and Buddha-babu? There are no holidays this July? Children are so much eager to enjoy a holiday. So are the elders. They are complaining me to take an action for a holiday. How long will it go on like this?

Pranab-da (in excitement): True, very true. No holidays this July. No holidays before 15th August. That means we will have to work hard like this for the next one month. We have already been working since 1st May, 2009 like this continuously for the last two months. It is high time we should get a holiday.

Buddha-babu (confused): But we cannot declare a holiday just like this. There should be some reason for a holiday.

Mamata-di (in excitement): Why don’t you declare a bandh? A bandh needs no reason. We can call bandh just like that.

Buddha-babu: Look Mamata, nowadays even for a bandh we need a reason. People are not fool anymore. Look how they are going against CPM in all the polls.

Mamata-di (to Pranab-da): Buddha-babu and I had called many bandhs in the last 5 years. Now it is you who will have to call for a bandh Pranab-da.

Pranab-da (in fear): Okay okay Mamata and Buddha, I have got an idea.

Mamata-di and Buddha-babu(in anticipation): What idea? What idea?

Pranab-da: Buddha, you will have to help me in this. You shall command your party men to chase away 9 of our MLAs in the village called Mangalcoat when they will go for helping the poor with aid. In protest, I will call for a bandh this week.

Mamata-di: A bandh should be called on a Friday or Monday so that most of us can have 3 days holidays at a stretch. In these three days people can pack off their bags and run to places like Digha, Puri, Darjeeling, Santiniketan and spend 3 idle days in peace. Others might spend a lazy day watching Ray-babu’s films on their DVD players.

Buddha-babu: Okay then, you can call the bandh on Friday the 17th of July, 2009. I will also ask our transport minister Subhash not to allow government buses to ply on the roads to make the bandh a successful one.

Mamta-di: Pranab-da, please tell you party men to burn down at least 9 to 10 government buses on the streets of Kolkata and Howrah to grant Subhash-da some reason to not allow government buses to ply on the roads. I shall also condemn the burning of buses to create a falsely good impression on people. (in pride) After all I am going to be the next CM.

Buddha-babu: Okay then Mamata and Pranab. So it is finalized that we will enjoy a total bandh on the said date and according to the discussion made above. Cheers to 3 of us!

Mamata-di (happily): Cheers!

Pranab-da (happily): Cheers!

RESULT: People of West Bengal enjoyed a bandh on 17th of July and had 3 days holidays at a stretch from Friday the 17th till Sunday the 19th of July, 2009.

NOTE: This is an untrue incident and not written to harm the sentiments of people. It is just to create a humour out of the present political scenario of Bengal. If anyone wants it to be removed, you can mail me to get it removed with a valid reason at vaichatt@gmail.com

Some Latest News - January 2009

Some of the interesting terms that have cropped up in recent times in our so called vocabulary are 2-stroke and 4-stroke after the Auto-Rickshaw controversy. Also Satyam is now better known as Mithyam after the newspaper & news bulletin headlines was flooded with the case of its ex-chaiman B Ramalinga Raju. Mothers all over the country have now warned their children, "DO NOT B Ramalinga Raju".

Hand or Lotus, who will win the next biggest poll of our country, is another question arising on the minds of the more than 1 billion people of our country. Now wait and watch to see whether Hand uproots the Lotus or the Lotus spreads its venom on the Hand.

Sundari trees (after whose name the Sundarbans was devised) are growing on the banks of river Hugli at Kolkata and they are green and going even in this pollution when the other trees are trying their level best to survive these alarming pollution levels. So there is high chance of seeing one or two tigers on the banks of the river in the next decade.

Ghajini or Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi? Which will be the leader at box office is a concern which haunts the minds of their fans more than Aamir or SRK, when both of them are spending their most luxurious holidays at the most luxorious destinations at the cost of their audiences.

Our Didi is more interested in who wins the bypoll at Nandigram while Buddha-babu is interested in wooing more investors to Bengal. Didi is more interested in jeopardizing all the efforts of Buddha-babu, whatever it might be so that she wins the next Rajya Sabha elections in Bengal. Thus she makes sure she is omnipresent and acts against any government official even if a taxi driver parks his car in a no parking zone and she makes sure she curses the constable who warns the taxi driver for breaking the law.

Petroleum is a major concern as the petrol pumps run dry across the country and scientists are thinking of ways to run cars on LPGs, water and even hydrogen. Hydrogen and LPG would be a fine option.

Without sports no news can be complete in India. It always comes 2nd from last. At last, comes the weather forecast. So in sports, cricket is at rest for some time, when all the cricket stars are busy doing fashion shows and films, and Dhoni is busy visiting his new girlfriend in Kolkata without security. Media is losing its sleep over this incident and follows Dhoni from Airport to Alipore and the whole incident gets telecasted in a leading Kolkata news channel. Oh,what a media it is! It loves to get into the personal lives of people. Saina Nehwal is in news now from sports section and she vows to be in Top 5 in 2009 and why not No 1 is a big question.

Anth mein aaj ki mausam ki jaankari. It’s a sunny day today with local temperatures rising close to 29 degree C during daytime and we need to switch on our fans and ACs even in the month of January, 2009. What a global warming? No signs of rain even if the sky was covered by huge clouds for the last 3 days.

So its time for bidding good bye from Vaijaynta in Some Latest News. Cya soon. Till then. Good bye. Take Care. Namaskar.

Nano-baadi or Nano-birodhi? Any solution?

Nano-baadi: Anyone for the Tata-Nano-Project. eg: Buddhadev Bhattacharya and his supporters.

Nano-birodhi: Anyone against the Tata-Nano-Project. eg: Mamata Banerjee and her supporters.

Let us look at the whole Singur situation and compare it with a household situation. Let us think of a farm house. Say I (compare to Buddhadev Bhattacharya) am an owner of a farmhouse (compare to Bengal) of 100 acres along with my cousin sister (compare to Mamata Banerjee). I invite my friend say Kalyan (compare to TATA), a person with great wealth, repute and ability to create a workshop of some factory equipment, to my farmhouse so that he can set up a workshop in only 10 acres. (which is only 10% of the whole area) and develop the livelihood of the farmers in my farmhouse.

Previously there were many farmers who used to work in my land and I had allowed them to take 90% of what they cultivated to their home. But now after Kalyan planned to set up the workshop in 10% of the farmhouse, my cousin sister, who was against me for a long time, who also has equal right over my property, comes and protests my move and says that she would not allow Kalyan to set up the workshop there.

Later, my cousin sister changes her decision and demand that my friend Kalyan can set up the workshop in only 6 acres as 6 farmers who worked on 6 acres were willing to give the land for the workshop in the hope of getting a job in the workshop. While 4 acres of the land would have to be returned to the 4 farmers who were unwilling to work for the workshop of Kalyan.
These 4 farmers along with my cousin sister is fighting and protesting in front of the 10 acres and demanding to return 4 acres to them thus hindering the smooth flow of the work processes of the workshop. The rest 6 farmers are happy that they got an opportunity to work for Kalyan’s workshop in the hope of getting a monthly salary of Rs. 20,000 while if they had cultivated the land they would have barely managed Rs. 5000 at most. So now they are unhappy that they are loosing their Rs. 15,000 for the unwanted protests of the 4 farmers.

So what could be done in such a situation? Any help? Any solution?

Mamata v/s Industrialization. Who will win?

Now one thing is to be seen that who wins the game of Singur?
There are 2 teams. Team Mamata and Team Buddha.

Team Mamata has many types of people: -
1) Mamata didi herself.
2) Her ruthless supporters who are willing to destroy anything for the sake of political interests of their party and for drawing vote bank who don’t care about the image of Bengal or whether the Tata leave Bengal or not.
3) Bhumi Ucched Protirodh Committee (BUPC) & Krishi Jomi Rokkha Committee (KJRC).
4) State governments of other states of India who wants the Tata plat to be in their state and so they are funding Mamata. So people like Amar Singh, Medha Patkar, Arundhuti Roy and other people can be seen along with Mamata supporting her baseless cause.

Team Buddha has many types of people: -
1) Buddha babu himself.
2) His supporters who have been mere spectators in Singur issue to avoid tension.
3) West Bengal Police to safeguard the interests of Tata Group.
4) Tata Group themselves.

So its Team Mamata v/s Team Buddha

So the situation is such that we will have to wait and watch what happens next. Whether Buddha babu returns 400 acres to the farmers or whether the Singur Plant along with the ancillary units come up at Singur. Who will finally win the match? Or whether there is a draw in the game, which means both parties are satisfied by the outcome of the game.

Mamata v/s Buddha or Mamata v/s Tata ?

Mamata Banerjee (our Didi) has again started her drama demanding the 400 acres from the Singur Tata Plant. Buddhadev Bhattacharya (Buddha babu or Chief Minister) has shown reasons why the 400 acres cannot be returned back to the famers as apart from 600 acres in Singur the 400 acres are needed for ancillary units. Otherwise the Tata has threatened that they might pull off the factory venture from Singur and re-establish it in some other state of India.

People of West Bengal who support industrialization are worried whether Tata is really planning to go to another state. That might show a wrong precedence among the future investors in West Bengal and the image of Bengal among the World Business Forum will be ruined. People who do not support industrialization are supporting Mamata in her dharna at Singur where they are merrily participating in the drama that is going on in front of the Singur Plant disrupting the normal work process of the Singur Plant.

So on the backdrop of this, some techies have developed a forum to support the Industrialization Drive by our State Government. Anyone who supports industrialization can visit this forum and add their name and the reason why they support industrialization.

We are going to have a second Metro Railway in Kolkata soon. I would like to discuss the boons and the banes that would follow it: -

Boons: -

1) We can reach Howrah within 15 minutes of Metro Journey from Bowbazar.

2) We can reach Salt Lake (including Sector V) withing 20 minutes from Bowbazar.

3) More people will be moving through this lifeline or East-West Metro Corridor as a result there will be less air and noise pollution in these stretch.

Banes: -

1) At least 100 buildings in B.B. Ganguly Street will collapse like packs of cards.

2) Many insane people will protest the building of the East-West Metro Railway.

3) Construction work will go for at least next 10 years in the new Metro Railway route with severe waterlogging during monsoons.

The Actual Tata 1 Lakh Car - The NANO

Congrats Mr. Ratan Tata and The Tatas (TELCO) to launch such a sweet car (THE NANO). Being a True Bengali, I support their cause of opening a car factory in West Bengal where no company has ever dared to arrive. Thanks a lot to all those who made the Tatas come to Bengal. It is like a dream come true for all of us in Bengal. It is a mission-impossible made possible by Mr. Ratan Tata and Honourable Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya. Thanks a lot, Sir.
