Jayant Kriplani - A Complete Man.

Jayant Kriplani

I have a lot of respect for Mr. Jayant Kriplani. He is such a nice man. His eyes say that. I like him a lot. I don't know but since I had seen him in those yesteryears tele-serials as well as tele-serials now and the films in which he had acted, he impressed me more and more. He is a great human being and a great dramatist. Such a talented person is really hard to find. He is one in a million. He is like a guru to me. One day I would like to meet him personally and as we meet, I would like to touch his feet in respect.

He also has such a romantic hair. His hair and looks has so much resemblance to the har and looks of our very own SRK. (my favourite actor) Mr. Jaant Kriplani seems to be an elder brother to our SRK. He also resembles one of my friend called Subhsankha Roy

My Latest Crush - Mishi Khan

I came to know about her Mishi Khan from the interview she took of my favourite singer Kumar Sanu. I saw the programme in South Asia TV last Saturday and I was in love with the sweet and cute ada of this lady. She has a nice way of talking to people and the characteristic that that captured my heart is that she doe not have the thing called "gham" in her which is found in 90% of girils of this age.

About Her: -

It's always been fun to chat with Mishi Khan witty, funny and blunt qualities that she says have sometimes spelt trouble for her. But as she aptly puts it, Frankly my dear I don't give a damn. I have two sides to me and if I'm funny and witty, it doesn't mean that I'm also a goof ball. I know what I'm saying. People tend to talk negatively and half of them think that girls in showbiz are simply brain dead. Basically, their insecurities lead them to think that way. My concepts and values are very clear so it doesn't bother me. Indeed, there has been a lot of speculation and tongues have been wagging about her sudden disappearance from the scene. So where was she? I hadn't gone anywhere so the question of coming back doesn't arise. I have never been totally out of touch. There was a time I was a constant on television and all that then stopped. When you are into something for a long time you need a break and I just thought I'd do something different. So I did three music videos.

Coming to music and popular opinion has it that Mishi just doesn't cut it as a singer. I did not sing for the sake of doing it but it was just something I had always wanted to do. My first music video Mahiya was nominated in the best debut song category for the Indus Music Awards in 2004 so for me that was a big thing. I think those who thought I was bad are more inclined towards classical stuff and I'm not into all that. I like to sing my kind of songs nice, easy and entertaining. I know what my limitations are as far as singing is concerned I'm not besuri (out of tune) so people should not be critical. So far, three of my songs have gone on air and were liked by a lot of people.

As a matter of fact, my album is ready and will be hitting shelves soon. This brings us to the issue of a rather plumpish Mishi in Mahiya. I have always been on the chubby side. My weight is perfect right now and I have never felt so good. I think being overweight is something that happens to everyone. I have never had a weight problem, it's just that I was never skinny. I like to look good rather than anorexic or bulimic. Be healthy, look healthy and think healthy that is the most important thing. My weight fluctuates because I love food and I have the tendency to gain weight as well. I exercise on a regular basis now, I watch what I eat but once a week I have anything and everything I want to.

People tend to talk negatively and half of them think that girls in showbiz are brain dead. Basically, their insecurities lead them to think that way. My concepts and values are very clear so it doesn't bother me, says Mishi Khan Besides music, the other activity that takes up most of Mishi's time these days is her appearance as the host of Aaj Ki Iftari. It's great fun chatting up the chef. As a matter of fact, I would love to do my own cooking show where I actually talk to people and not just tell them Pehle hara dhaniya dal lain aur phir hari mirch. I have another show on Aaj TV called Sunday with Mishi and an entertainment based-show with TV One called E on One. I have recently shot a serial and a telefilm in Lahore as well. I don't want to do any or every kind of play just to be busy. I want something challenging so as of now I am concentrating on these two shows, and of course my album.

It's true that Mishi likes to experiment with different mediums of entertainment. Having done television and music, she tried her hand at films as well but it wasn't a pleasant experience. If offered a role today, will she accept? At that point I took it as an experience and it wasn't bad. But filmi people speak and think differently and I can't understand the Lollywood lingo. Vulgarity for them is nothing as for me what they show is vulgar. So if our mental levels don't match then how can we work together?

I would not accept an offer from them now. Mentally, I have gone ahead but probably if somebody like Saquib Malik or Jami approaches me with an offer, I can understand their language and would work with them. Talking in context to Bollywood and going the way of Meera, Mishi surprisingly puts asks: Meera who? However, she later concedes and adds, I don't follow her professionally. I don't think doing something in Bollywood is bad but doing something mediocre and C grade is. As they say if you maintain a certain standard in life you will get quality even if you get it late. But if you go lower the graph then there is no hope of salvation. Pakistan should be represented abroad by people who carry themselves with dignity. You have to look and behave in a dignified manner.

If not then the rest of the world will think that Pakistani women act and behave like that all the time, and that is not really called for.รข€Still single, Mishi is still enjoying life but says she wouldn't mind getting hitched. I am very happy, content and relaxed. I feel that destiny takes one places to meet people. I believe in fate and feel if there is somebody in your life he/she will come to you. I think you have to love yourself first to love somebody else. Love or marriage is not something that one should get depressed about. You have one life to live and you should make the most of it everyday. Wake up with a smile and bring a smile to somebody's face. I think that in itself is an achievement.

Getting married is not an achievement. Not that I wouldn't like to get married at some point in time but not at the moment. So what does she think the foreseeable future has in store for her? Doing something totally different which probably I don't even know at this point. I see myself as healthy and wealthy. I also do photography and while travelling, which is also another passion of mine, I had taken pictures all over the world of buildings, people sitting, standing or simply doing nothing. Probably, I would like to have an exhibition of my portraits. As for television, whatever work I have done from the time I did Uroosa till today, offers have come to me directly.

I have no idea of how to go and ask for work. I guess I have always been lucky in that sense. What about production and direction? Well all my three videos were self-produced and the album will also be my own production. I would like to make a tele film but not now, maybe later, but don't know when. I need to do it properly. So maybe first I would like to do a course in film making as training is important to bring finesse to your craft. I don't want to do it on a trial-and-error basis or simply because I have to do it. I want to make something which is very slick and very fast-paced, and do it at a time when I am absolutely sure about it.

Last Compartments are for Females only !!!

Gaurav would really be sad on hearing such a gay-ish decision by the metro rail authorities. The last compartments of the Kolkata Metro Rail have recently been reserved for females, where no male can put their curious toes. We are all really amazed by such a gay-ish decision. It will have its effect. Some are: -

1) Girls / Females / Ladies will be stared at by the fellow passengers on the Metro Stations more as the men would not be able to stare at their female co-passengers on the train during the journey. After all everthing should be in balance. Na?

2) Number of male as well as female passengers on the train will diminish on the Metro Rail thus creating huge losses for the Metro Rail authorities. To compensate this, the authorities should reduce the price of the fares by one rupee else I don't find the chance of number of passengers to increase.

3) Sometimes we see some villagers (with due respect to them) visit the Metro Rail for the sake of riding the train and fun. They usually travel with 10 kids and 5-6 adults who are either male or female. They also usually have a tendency of entering and exiting the compartments by holding each other’s hands in the fear of getting lost from their dear ones. Thus if there are 4 females in a group of 15 people, then there is a high possibility of their getting lost as they will not be able to get inside and get outside the compartment by grasping each other’s hands. There is also a possibility of these males getting off on one station and females getting off on the next station or on the next to next stations. So the authorities should be prepared for more and more villagers getting lost in Metro Railway from now onwards. They can start preparing a lost and found cell in all the Metro Staions.

4) Girlfriends and Boyfriends or at large couples would have a difficult time travelling on separate compartments from now on without their better halves.

5) The loss of metro would be gain for the buses and taxis as people would be travelling more on buses thus adding congestion on the roads. Thus Kolkata Police would have a difficult time in managing more traffic jams and so they would have to put extra effort on their duty.

Instead of such an emotional step, the Metro Rail authorities should have increased the frequency of trains from 15 minutes to 5 minutes throughout the day. People would have really praised them and blessed them as the number of traffic has drastically increased since the inception of the Metro rail.

Greatness of Parsees (TATAs)

"Centuries ago, when Parsis landed off the coast of Gujarat, the then King sent them a cup brimful with milk, indicating that there was no way he could accommodate more people. The Parsis then mixed sugar in the milk indicating that they would mingle similarly with the local population."

Nano-baadi or Nano-birodhi? Any solution?

Nano-baadi: Anyone for the Tata-Nano-Project. eg: Buddhadev Bhattacharya and his supporters.

Nano-birodhi: Anyone against the Tata-Nano-Project. eg: Mamata Banerjee and her supporters.

Let us look at the whole Singur situation and compare it with a household situation. Let us think of a farm house. Say I (compare to Buddhadev Bhattacharya) am an owner of a farmhouse (compare to Bengal) of 100 acres along with my cousin sister (compare to Mamata Banerjee). I invite my friend say Kalyan (compare to TATA), a person with great wealth, repute and ability to create a workshop of some factory equipment, to my farmhouse so that he can set up a workshop in only 10 acres. (which is only 10% of the whole area) and develop the livelihood of the farmers in my farmhouse.

Previously there were many farmers who used to work in my land and I had allowed them to take 90% of what they cultivated to their home. But now after Kalyan planned to set up the workshop in 10% of the farmhouse, my cousin sister, who was against me for a long time, who also has equal right over my property, comes and protests my move and says that she would not allow Kalyan to set up the workshop there.

Later, my cousin sister changes her decision and demand that my friend Kalyan can set up the workshop in only 6 acres as 6 farmers who worked on 6 acres were willing to give the land for the workshop in the hope of getting a job in the workshop. While 4 acres of the land would have to be returned to the 4 farmers who were unwilling to work for the workshop of Kalyan.
These 4 farmers along with my cousin sister is fighting and protesting in front of the 10 acres and demanding to return 4 acres to them thus hindering the smooth flow of the work processes of the workshop. The rest 6 farmers are happy that they got an opportunity to work for Kalyan’s workshop in the hope of getting a monthly salary of Rs. 20,000 while if they had cultivated the land they would have barely managed Rs. 5000 at most. So now they are unhappy that they are loosing their Rs. 15,000 for the unwanted protests of the 4 farmers.

So what could be done in such a situation? Any help? Any solution?

Ganesh Chaturthi - Why is Lord Ganesha immersed?

There is a story behind the immersion of Ganesha. It is said that Mata Parvati wanted to go her home land. Lord Shiva allowed Her to visit her parents. Just after 1 day after allowing Mata Parvati to visit her home, Lord Shiva sent Ganesha to bring Her back to Kailash. On the day before the Ganesh Chaturthi, Mata Parvati comes to Her home land to visit Her parents. The immersion of Ganesha is the sending back of Mata Parvati and Lord Ganesha to Kailash as there is route from Patala to Kailash.

Section 49-O of the Constitution

Today I read this comment in Rediff.com by an individual called Prafull Kumar. It seemed interesting. I did not know that something like this ever existed. It is: -

Section 49-O of the Constitution

Did you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone! Yes such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious leaders have never disclosed it. This is called "49-O". Why should you go and say "I VOTE NOBODY"... because, in a ward, if a candidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that particular ward has received "49-O" votes more than 123, then that polling will be cancelled and will have to be re-polled. Not only that, but the candidature of the contestants will be removed and they cannot contest the re-polling, since people had already expressed their decision on them. This would bring fear into parties and hence look for genuine candidates for their parties for election. This would change the way, of our whole political system... it is seemingly surprising why the election commission has not revealed such a feature to the public.... Please spread this news to as many as you know...Seems to be a wonderful weapon against corrupt parties in India... show your power, expressing your desire not to vote for anybody, is even more powerful than voting... so don't miss your chance. So either vote, or vote not to vote (vote 49-O) and pass this info on...

Site-o-logy 00001 - Tolly Film Industry

Today I had come across a new Bengali Film Industry (Tollywood Industry / Tolly Film Industry) commercial website. It is good. But it lacks details and should be more informative.

It is http://tollynewz.com/

This is one of the first attempt to provide news on the commercial Bengali Film Industry.
